mickey65,
Frank Pittman has another good book that I'm reading now. It's called"Grow Up",and it has a very good chapter on affairs and divorce. Also explains about taking responsibility for your actions, and being a better person.Probably a good book to read if you are getting a divorce, and want to improve yourself before getting into another relationship.Check it out. --Murph

This is a great book!!!!!!!!!!! There are a lot of books out there on the subject. (I think I've read 90%) of them and this is one of the best. I agree with what Lu quoted. That many times the betrayer takes an okay marriage and ruins it with lies, deceptions and secrets. I believe just those things are what kills the emotional attachment in the marriage because the betrayer in keeping lies and secrets splits off his emotions to protect himself and before long feels less or no emotion for the spouse. But having all this pent up emotion then it is just outpoured when a romantic alternative is met. This seems to be the case in my marriage. I know we had some things to work on and til this day I do not believe this marriage has to end. However my husband tore away emotionally many years ago with his first affair and I never realized it for a number of reasons too long to go into. He moved out three weeks ago to try to see what he wants and I know the ow has been here for at least one weekend already. Such as life. I am learning to let go. Only God can heal. But Pittman's book is great.
